Gary Beale, Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer

Gary Beale is Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Emblation. Since forming the organisation in 2008, Gary is responsible for the continual expansion of the business, including lucrative commercial partnerships with a number of global organisations and Emblation’s programme of research and development. Under Gary’s leadership, Emblation has designed and commercialised state-of-the-art energy-based products in numerous medical fields, in addition to bespoke microwave generator design and manufacture for the world’s leading healthcare companies.

Gary has more than 25 years of leadership experience in medical technology, working across oncology, gynaecology, vascular surgery, cardiology, and latterly across dermatology and podiatry. He has held senior leadership positions at Microsulis (now AngioDynamics) and Boston Scientific.

Gary holds a BEng (Hons), an MSc (Distinction), and a PhD (ABD), all from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Eamon McErlean - Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Emblation Microwave

Eamon McErlean, Co-founder, Chief Technology Officer

Eamon McErlean is Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Emblation. Since co-founding the organisation in 2008, Eamon is responsible for generating intellectual property and leading the technology and engineering strategy. He has published in international peer reviewed journals, and has authored close to 100 patents cases.

Eamon has more than 20 years of technical experience in medical technology, working primarily in oncology and gynaecology, and latterly in dermatology, podiatry, and cardiology.

Eamon holds a BEng (Hons), an MPhil, and a PhD (ABD), all from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Jonathan Williamson - Director, Strategy & Marketing, Emblation Microwave

Jonathan Williamson, Director, Strategy & Marketing

Jonathan Williamson is the Director of Strategy and Marketing at Emblation. Joining the organisation in 2011, Jonathan is responsible for the commercial function, devising and implementing strategies for international growth. Jonathan has overseen successful product launches in the UK, Australia, Canada, and the USA, and manages a team that includes marketing, digital marketing, sales, and customer service, in addition to holding relationships with a number of clinical KOLs and building a network of commercial partners.

Jonathan has more than 10 years of management experience in sales and marketing, communications, and organisational strategy.

Jonathan holds an MA (Hons) in English Literature from the University of Glasgow, a Diploma in Digital Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and a Masters Diploma (Distinction) in Strategy and Innovation from the University of Oxford.
